Unboxing My Latest Godzilla Figure

Recently, I received a new Shin Godzilla figure that I had pre-ordered many months ago. Upon opening it, I was so excited and happy by its amazingness that it inspired me to write this article.

Since I was a kid I’ve always loved Godzilla. Now, I’m a serious fan and collector of Godzilla figures. I own a number of X Plus, S.H. MonsterArts, Marmit, and Bandai figures. I recently purchased one of the Omega Beast Shin Godzilla (Awakening Version). It’s now the centerpiece of my Godzilla collection.

The Omega Beast Shin Godzilla

The Omega Beast Shin Godzilla (Awakening Version) Figurine is truly an art piece and an incredibly sculptured work. The detail and the paint are unparalleled. Shin’s wrinkled physique shimmers with glittering color. The pose of the savage and sharp teeth are both terrifying and beautiful.

Its size is impressive and the design is incredible. It’s a must for any Godzilla fan. In my opinion, this is the best Shin Godzilla figure produced to this point. It even blows the X-plus gigantic series Shin Godzilla out of the water. The sculpture really captures the fury and pain of the creature.

What Is Shin Godzilla?

Shin Godzilla is thought to be an evolution of a prehistoric super-organism from the ocean. It was transformed by the nuclear waste dumped into sea by humans. In Japanese legend, he’s believed to be God who is God in human form.

Is it Godzilla? Yes, it’s another version of the character. Like different versions of Godzilla This one is highly radioactive. It is erupts and pulses with radioactivity. The creature’s skin sags and folds over one another, glowing with radioactive red and purple. Its mouth is split and deformed by the process of evolution.

The mouth evolved this method in order to take advantage of the atomic breath as a defense mechanism in case of attack with the whole body pumping with boiling lava-like radioactive blood–even Shin’s hands, which are small and creepy and arms pumping radioactive blood. Shin is indeed the most terrifying of Godzillas.

The film’s title Shin Gojira was first released on July 25, 2016, in Tokyo. According to producers, they chose the name due to its many meanings. The Japanese language, using different Kanji characters to create”shin” symbols “shin” could suggest the meaning in the sense of “true” as well as “god.”

Godzilla-themed figures and fun

Godzilla collectibles can be very enjoyable, addicting, and very expensive. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want all the Godzilla figures you can lay you hands on. If you don’t have endless amounts of money and space you’ll have to select the most impressive figures.

If the figure is properly done right and is sculpted and painted properly it becomes more desirable. My experience has shown that almost every Godzilla figurine increases in price when the figure is removed from the market, unless it’s an original knockoff. It is not unusual to observe figures increase by a third or more in price.

My Favorite Godzilla Figure Lines

Here are some Godzilla manufacturer lines and figure lines to look into if you’re interested in starting an assortment.

SHONEN-RIC/X-PLUS

My personal favorite Godzilla figures are made by SHONEN-RIC/XPLUS. They never lack detail and are usually movie-suit exact. That is, they are exactly like the costume in the film, right down to the seams.

The XPLUS figures are stunningly well-constructed, sculpted and painted. They typically range in price from $89 for the smallest figures to several thousand for larger figures, based the “when” and “where” you buy them. When buying X-PLUS Godzilla figures, you’ll want to act quickly and get your pre-orders. Figures tend to sell out quickly when they do, and after that get sold out, they’re difficult to find at a good price.

Like the gigantic series by X-PLUS, these figures could have been pre-ordered at a price of $400-$1200. You can now get them for thousands of dollar on ebay. Incredible figures such as the X-PLUS massive Series Shin Godzilla are selling on eBay for more than $2500!

The Omega Beast Series by EZHobi

The Omega Beast Series by EZHobi are among the most beautiful models ever produced. They use special paints and materials to create a distinctive look that only comes with the Omega Beast Series. These figures are very rare large and costly.

If you’re able to find one, I would highly suggest purchasing it. You can expect to pay around $1300 for one of these figures. The figures can skyrocket in price and therefore be sure to pre-order yours as soon as possible. In the event that you don’t, it could be a challenge and costly.

S.H. MonsterArts

S.H. MonsterArts figures are among the top figures available on the market and are highly sought after by collectors. These figures come with numerous points of articulation that allow for a broad range of movement and possibilities.

The paint job, details and sculpts are usually high-end when you buy S.H. MonsterArts figures. Pre-order prices usually range from $60 to $150, based on where you purchase them. However, once they are sold out and go to eBay prices may jump up to $400.

Bandai American and Bandai Spirits

Bandai figurines are among the top figures you can purchase. They’re surprisingly affordable making them the perfect choice for novice collectors who want to begin collecting. Prices vary from 10 dollars at the lower end , all the way to several hundred dollars at the top end. There are plenty of excellent figures in the lower price bracket.

Playmate & MonsterVerse Figures

The MonsterVerse contains films starring Godzilla as well as King Kong produced by Legendary Entertainment and co-produced by WB.

MonsterVerse figures are produced by various companies, among them Walmart. Walmart is the only retailer to offer its own collection of Godzilla MonsterVerse figures by Playmates. Surprisingly the figures are superior to what we expected and are worth getting. The prices at Walmart are between $10 and $30. Although once they sell out, expect to pay more.

Godzilla and Friends

The Godzilla universe consists of all kinds of monsters ranging from big to small to hairy and tall. Some are close to Godzilla and others are enemies However, all of them have large personalities.

Certain monsters, such as Baragon are small charming, adorable, and innocent, while others, like Biollante are massive and terrifying. There are also mechanical monsters, such as Mecha King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla. The world of Godzilla is truly an exciting one.
