The Highland Folk Museum is Britain’s first outdoor museum. It sits on a site a mile long. It is a museum that is alive and well and lets you journey into the past. The kids will be thrilled by the play park and township homes, and you are able to entice them with a trip to the sweet shop that was once a traditional one. If you’re a lover of the novels and the TV series Outlander which has a cult following, then you’ve come to the right place. In 2014 the 1700s Highland Township was used as filming locations for the TV series.

6. Highland Wildlife Park, Kincraig
At the Highland Wildlife Park you will discover Scottish wildlife and endangered animals of the world’s mountain ranges and tundra in a stunning Highland setting. The Park is home to the UK’s first Polar bear cub that lasted for over 25 years, it is an exciting moment at the Park. Once you are in the Park you can drive through the main area and go through the walk around area on feet. In addition, the Park is home to native species such as those of the Scottish Wildcat and Capercaillie as in addition to Amur Tigers, Snow Leopards, Polar Bears, Northern Lynx, European Grey Wolf and Japanese Macaque. We highly recommend taking a guided land rover trip round the main reserve or attending the talks that are held every day.
